Improving access to buildings for all users in line with the Equality Act 2010 is fundamental and specifiers are using as many tools as possible to ensure that buildings are designed or refurbished in order to create an inclusive environment.

Some surfaces are critical to highlight and can provide the basis for wayfinding for visually impaired people. Other surfaces need to be blend with the wall so it is ‘hidden’ from the patient - making it less tempting for them to ‘explore’ for example for people suffering from dimentia.

Gradus has created a guide how to evaluate the contrast of Gradus products. With the LRV value - values above 30% will make a visible contrast and values below 10% will blend in.
